Project

Skid Software , http://www.skid.org.in

• Project Description : Skid is software, which is designed to help kids communicate and learn. Children who cannot speak properly, including many with cerebral palsy and autism, are denied access to a regular school, even though they could communicate in other ways, for instance using a computer. It is such other ways, that Skid explores.

• My Responsiblites : I have taken part in the making of four modules which allow you to do picture editing .

Module 1 : First module is ‘picedit’ module , which allows you to edit a selected picture and add effects such as border, blur, radial blur, charcoal, wave and rotating a picture.

I am the designer of this module.

Module 2 : Second module is ‘reflect’ module, which allows you to create a mirror image of the picture. It can invert an image or change it’s orientation from left to right.

I am the designer of this module.

Module 3 : Third module is the ‘crop’ module , which allows you to crop a selected picture from four sides i.e. left, right, top and bottom, on the Skid website itself.

I am Co- Designer of this module .

Module 4 : Fourth module is ’step size’ module that works in tandem with the crop module and allows you to select the amount of cropping you want to do for a picture.

I am Co-Designer of this module .

Career Objectives

My career objective is to update my knowledge continuously and serve the organization in which I am employed with sincerity. I will strive hard to secure a challenging position wherein my skills are improved and thereby achieve my personal career goals and also those of my employer.

Achievements

• Designed and Co-designed Picture editing module for http://www.skid.org.in

• Champion and Runner up in Sub junior and Junior category of Zonal Badminton championship in the year 2001 and 2003.
• Resource person for Workshop on “Software Engineering and it’s Concepts” held at Acharya Narendra Dev College on 5 August 2008 for PGDCA students.

• Treasurer, Computer Science Department of Acharya Narendra Dev College (Delhi University) for the session 2006-07.
• Runner up in Table Tennis Inter School Sports Tournament in 2000-2001.

• 3rd position in Vocabulary (Literary Spectrum) School Competition in 2005.

• 1st position in the General Knowledge Quiz at School in the year 2001-02.

• Finished 3rd Level Training of Delhi Scouts and Guides in the year 1999-2000.

Summer Training

• Summer Training in Ruby, an Open source programming language and Ruby on Rails, an open source Web framework under guidance of Prof. Arun Mehta, Managing Director, Indata Com Private Limited, Delhi in 2008.

IT Skills

• Programming Languages : C++, Java, Ruby(currently learning).

• Web Designing : Ruby on Rails(currently learning), Html.

• Database : Oracle(currently learning).

• I can work comfortably in Linux and Windows operating systems.

• I have a good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Open Office.

• Maintaining my blog on different aspects of computers.

• Participated actively in various plays as Lead and Supporting actor and in the Inter-House Hindi Talent Hunt Competition of school in the year 2004-05.

• Attended a workshop on “Personality Development” held at Meher Bhasin Academy in the year 2004-05.

• Participated in Green Olympiad (2003), National Science Olympiad and Inter House Speech Competition of School in the year 1998-99.
